Picture Pages: Brother Birthday
June 17, 2009 by alexnberra
My Brother Adam, blue sky, energetic white clouds, lichen and old structures, a mini photo adventure that was more than we both expected.
My Brother, Adam, pictured above, made the trip down to Ashland to give me the awesome birthday gift of his presence. Some yoga, made excellent food, did downtown Ashland, and took a fun picture taking journey up Dead Indian Memorial Road. Where I also picked up a fine piece of steel for nearby “Rancho Relaxo”. A humble abode worthy of its own post, perhaps the next “I Like…” Here just a few of the pics with captions an as always you can click on the pic for a bigger view. Adam used a recently acquired Hasselblad that he got some great shots with, will have to wait for those. Thanks for making the trip Bro, a memorable birthday weekend indeed!
This is not a close up of Bigfoot's armpit. Remember those close up shots in National Geographic World magazine for kids, you had to guess what it was...
Mt. Ashland in the far distance, rays of sunshine and pools of light amidst all of it.
Fred Flinstone rode a single speed.
The hills and clouds roll and move together, as one, curves change the landscape of sky and earth.
One of the wide curling switchbacks of the Dead Indian Memorial Road climb. My legs, lungs and bike know them all very well, like a lover's hand knows the face of his love with the simple touch of his fingers.
High Mountain Sunflower, not as big as the real thing as you can see by the ant for scale.
Doing my best "Marlboro man meets Ashland man".
I love my Brother.
If you find yourself walking one of these make sure you don't get in the truck, I repeat, don't get in the truck, you won't make it back.
A roadside view, one of hundreds up here on the prairie.
