Solstice Sun Song
December 23, 2009 by alexnberra

A couple days ago was the Winter Solstice, the shortest day of the year, my Dad, shown here on the road ahead, spent as much of the day as possible hiking with the sun and rain.

Sun made the most of its limited appearance time on the Solstice.

An artsy out of focus shot that turned out to be nice, the flecks the camera focused on are raindrops. Of course, Oregon in the winter means you get all the weather of four seasons in four minutes.

An oak tree makes a nice picture frame for the sunset.

West, I do listen.

And west, you are singing.

The shortest day casts the longest shadow.

Could almost pass for a summer sunset shot.

From my ear to yours, and back again, we sing.

A crystal I found on the hike, shown here collecting the last few rays of the solstice within its shimmery matrix. Check back in a couple days for a chance to have this very crystal delivered to you!
